Moon Chae Won is pediatric surgeon in Green Scalpel

Upcoming KBS drama  Green Scalpel finds its leading lady in Moon Chae Won.

The 26-year-old actress plays doctor in that drama – a first time in her career.

Her character, Cha Yoon Seo, is a pediatric surgeon.

A boyish with easy-going personality, Cha Yoon Seo dream to be a kindergarten teacher , but a visit to the children hospital as a volunteer, changed her dream.

She decided to be a pediatrician and entered the best medical school.

She’s a talented doctor with righteous personality.

As usual, Cha Yoon Seo will involve in love triangle with another doctors, Park Sion, a unique and warm resident doctor (played by Joo Won) and Professor Kim Do Han , a charismatic and talented pediatric surgeon (played by Joo Sang Wook).

Won Bin is considering a movie from director Lee Chang Dong

After the mega successful movie The Man From Nowhere in 2010, Won Bin received countless movie and TV drama’s scripts.
He was rumored took the leading man role in That Winter The Wind Blows but he dropped it.
And now, there’s news that Won Bin is considering to star in a movie from director Lee Chang Dong.
Lee Chang Dong is the director of Secret Sunshine, a movie which brought Jeon Do Yeon won Best Actress at prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2008.
His latest movie, Poetry also won Best Screenplay Awards at 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
No wonder that Won Bin is interested to work with this talented director.
So, will Won Bin join Lee Chang Dong’s upcoming film?
We prefer him to take a TV drama’s script but it’s been 3 years since his latest acting work, so we will rejoice if he return.

Joo Won in talks to play medical drama

When Joo Won confirmed that he takes the lead in romantic-comedy movie titled Only You alongside Kim Ah Joong, we seriously thought that Joo Won decided to take a break from TV drama after finished 7th Grade Civil Servant which ended with only single digit rating. Quite disappointing result after its early episodes showed good numbers and of course after the highly successful Bridal Mask.

But then , rumor has it that the 25-year-old actor is in talks to take leading role again in upcoming KBS medical drama titled Green Scalpel / Green Mass.

Oh, medical drama, how boring ! It seems that Joo Won picks a wrong drama.

But, when reading the synopsis of Green Scalpel, turns out the story will be quite different and appealing.
Green Scalpel is about autistic young man who becomes pediatric surgeon. If agree, Joo Won will play that autistic young man and actor Joo Sang Wook will take antagonist role as doctor Kim Do Han, Korean best pediatric surgeon.

Green Scalpel is scheduled to air after Shark next August.
So, Joo Won as autistic young man ? Should be interesting to see.

Kim So Yeon play prosecutor again in Two Weeks

Kim So Yeon gets a prosecutor role again after Prosecutor Princess in 2010.

But, unlike a pretty and rich prosecutor in Prosecutor Princess, her character in Two Weeks is described as a baddass prosecutor, clever and  fights for justice.

It’s definitely a perfect role for 32-year-old Kim So Yeon who beautifully played  badass North Korean agent in IRIS.

Two Weeks‘ story is coming from writer So Hyun Kyung who also wrote Prosecutor Princess. The story is about a a man (Lee Jun Ki) who’s’ falsely accused of a murder and then he finds out that he got a daughter with leukemia and Lee Jun Ki has to save her life in just two weeks time.

Two Weeks to air next August.

Ha Ji Min is aimless woman in movie ‘Plan Man’

Ha Ji Min picks a romantic comedy movie titled Plan Man as her new project after Rooftop Prince in 2012.

In the Plan Man, Ha Ji Min plays a spontaneous, random woman who always changes everything in and about her life. She meets her opposite, a full calculated and planned man which played by Jung Jae Young.

42-year-old movie actor Jung Jae Young’s role is described as a man who planned everything in his live, and has OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) behavior.

So, it’s kind of funny how these 2 opposite person meet and interact.

Plan Man is scheduled for 2014 release.

Ha Ji Won is the queen of Goeryo in Hwatu

After played North Korean woman in The King 2 Hearts, Ha JI Won decides to be the queen of Goeryo in her new drama titled Hwatu.
Ha Ji Won”s role is Empress Ki, a real person in Goeryo’s history.
The drama itself tells story of love and conflicts in the life of Empress Ki.

It’s interesting to see how Ha Ji Won will portray her character as an empress as she said in the SBS’ talkshow ‘Thank You’ that she always get invested so deep to her character.
She said that after filmed action thriller Sector 7 (where her character was described lost all her family), she couldn’t break away from her character. So that she needed psychiatric therapy to be prepared for her new drama Secret Garden at that time.

Hwatu is scheduled for the second part of 2013 on MBC and coming from writer Jang Young Chul and Jung Kyung Soon who made Daejoyoung, Giant and The History of Salaryman.

Kim Bum , Moon Geun Young and Lee Sang Yoon in Goddess of Fire Jung Yi

Kim Bum’s agency confirmed that 23-year-old Kim Bum will play his first ever saeguk drama in upcoming MBC’s Goddess of Fire Jung Yi.

His arrival completes Moon Geun Young and Lee Sang Yoon which already joined the cast.
Goddess of Fire Jung Yi tells story of King Gwanghae (Lee Sang Yoon) who loved Jung Yi (Moon Geun Young) , the first female ceramic artist at that time. King Gwanghae had to let her go at the end because of his position as the king.
Meanwhile Kim Bum plays Kim Tae Do, the perfect , kind-hearted warrior, the childhood friend of Jung Yi and as usual, he loves her and devoted his life to Jung Yi.

As a leading cast, this drama is the second saeguk for Moon Geun Young after Painter of The Wind, where she played a talented painter and later that year Moon Geun Young walked away with Daesang Award from 2008 SBS Drama Awards for her brilliant acting.

32-episode Goddess of Fire Jung Yi airs July, replacing Gu Family Book.

Lee Jun Ki has to save his daughter in Two Weeks

Lee Jun Ki’s agency confirmed that he will take the leading role in upcoming MBC drama titled Two Weeks.
Lee Jun Ki plays a man who’s’ falsely accused of a murder and then he finds out that he got a daughter with leukemia and Lee Jun Ki has to save her life in just two weeks time. So, this means the 31-year-old Lee Jun Ki will be playing a father role for the first time in his career.

This heart-wrenching drama combined with action scenes comes from writer So Hyun Kyung who wrote the story of 49 Days, Brilliant Legacy, Prosecutor Princess and the latest My Daughter Soyoung.

Two Weeks will be a summer drama in August.

Jang Dong Gun to play a killer in new movie

Such a great new that Jang Dong Gun has a movie to come.
The movie is a action thriller, titled Crying Man.
Jang Dong Gun will play the leading actor – of course- a killer who falls in love.
Wow, then, who’ll play the leading actress will be very important.
The movie will be directed by Lee Jung Bum, the one who directed Won Bin in box-office movie Ajuhssi (The Man From Nowhere).
The combo of Jang Dong Gun and Lee Jung Bum definitely worth watching !

Hyun Bin is bipolar king in new movie

After the success of TV drama Secret Garden and finished his army duty, Hyun Bin finally picked a movie as his comeback project.

It’s a saeguk movie, the first saeguk for Hyun Bin, titled King’s Wrath.
Directed by Lee Jae Gyu (Damo, The King 2 Hearts), in this movie Hyun Bin takes the lead role as King Jungjo who fights to keep his position as a king.

About his upcoming role, Hyun Bin hinted that the role probably has two personality/ character , something like bipolar.

King’s Wrath is scheduled for early 2014.
