Imagine you’re a rookie actress, never been in a drama or movie.
And you just knocked out 119 other girls for a spot as supporting cast in a drama from hit-maker writer Kim Eun Sook and in the same cast with superstars such as Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ha Neul, Kim Soo Ro, Kim Min Jong and Lee Jong Hyuk.
The situation must be overwhelmed for you , to be in the same scene with those heavyweight celebrities.
But, it seemed that it didn’t happen for Yoon Jin Yi, as she looked so comfortable in the screen and her acting was so great for a rookie. She’s shining in A Gentleman’s Dignity, although she shared a lot of scenes with those superstars.
But, behind the scene, turned out, Yoon Jin Yi was full of awe for her co-stars.
Newsen chatted with Yoon Jin Yi during her busy schedule and here is what she said ,” Just a year ago, I watched Secret Garden with my friends as a normal drama fans. Now, I’m playing a drama from the same writer. I still can’t believe this. I feel like I still watch movie or drama as a fan”.
At first, reporter thought that Yoon Jin Yi already made proper adjustment with the shooting atmosphere as she showed stable -if not great- acting skill in her debut work. But, the reality is on the contrary.
She said ,” Kim Ha Neul, Jang Dong Gun, Kim Min Jong, Kim Soo Ro and Lee Jong Hyuk, they all don’t look like human beings to me. They look like doll or sculpture. They’re more handsome than I see in drama or movie”.
Yoon Jin Yi also shared her opinion about her famous co-stars.
On Jang Dong Gun, she said ,” He always smiles. He’s really kind and gentle. He’s a little different than his character, Kim Do Jin. He’s really nice”.
On Kim Soo Ro ,” He’s very active.”
She said that the most different character is Lee Jong Hyuk. He plays a reckless playboy in A Gentleman’s Dignity but actually he’s a family man.
She said ,” He always uses Ka-talk (social media application) with his young son and he often talks about his family at home. He’s real gentleman”.
Yoon Ji Yi said that the most comfortable actor is Kim Min Jong, who’s her character’s love interest in drama. Because they shared many scenes together, they become close quickly. Yoon Jin Yi calls Kim Min Jong ‘oppa’.
She said ,” As we have more chances to stay together than other actors, he’s the most comfortable actor for me. He’s gentle and full of consideration. There’s a huge gap in our age but I don’t feel odd because his face looks young”.
Yikes, it’s clear that she’s still starstruck with her famous co-stars .
