Of course it’s not the flesh of Won Bin who appears in the drama, only his real name.
Won Bin’s real name, Kim Do Jin, coincidentally is the name of Jang Dong Gun’s character in A Gentleman’s Dignity.
If we look back to the drama’s writer, writer Kim Eun Sook, soon we realize that writer Kim Eun Suk is also famous because she likes to use her friends or other real people name for her drama.

She had used the name of the director of her production company for her drama’s character, as well as  her fellow colleague-writer’s name.
So, people think that using Kim Do Jin name is not an coincident.

During A Gentleman’s Dignity’s press conference, writer Kim Eun Sook already got question whether Kim Do Jin is borrowed from Won Bin’s real name, and the writer answered ,” Absolutely not. It didn’t have any special meaning”.

But people keep speculated that writer Kim Eun Sook already planned to cast Jang Dong Gun for her drama because she mentioned that superstar’s name in her previous drama On Air (2008).
In a scene of On Air , Seo Young Eun’s mother (played by Song Yun Ah) told her daughter which is a writer ,” So, does Jang Dong Gun work for your drama ?”

About that, writer Kim Eun Sook answered honestly ,” In the On Air’s dialogue, Jang Dong Gun’s name was mentioned. Now, he’s playing my drama, so my wish is fulfilled”.

So,  as she’s using Won Bin’s name for her drama, is it a hint that she wants Won Bin to play her upcoming drama ? Hopefully yes !

And we will thank her so much if she can persuade Won Bin to return to the small screen ! She did that impossible task with Jang Dong Gun, we believe she would make it too with Won Bin.
