What Sung Joon did should be the example for another newcomers in Korean showbiz to follow. He prepared himself with additional important ability before joining the tough Korean showbiz.

21-year-old ex-model Sung Joon is relatively new to the business. His first job was a cameo role in Lee Min Ho’s Personal Preference (2010). After that he appeared as supporting character for mystery thriller KBS drama special White Christmas (2011).

He finally nabbed a substantial role as the second leading man in Lie To Me. During Lie To Me , although he’s overshadowed by heavyweights Kang Ji Hwan and Yoon Eun Hye, but people noticed him and he slowly became known.

And then, the golden opportunity comes. Sung Joon was picked as leading man for  tvN drama Shut Up Flower Boy Band. We believe one of the important reason Sung Joon was picked as the band leader for this drama was  because he can play instruments.

Now, with Shut Up Flower Boy Band gained great rating in home country and attracted 9 Asian countries to air this drama, Sung Joon once again showed that he’s a full package actor.

Turned out Sung Joon is fluent in English, as he spent several years studied in Britain. He’s also fluent in Japanese, which he acquired through self-education.

This’s surprised many fans and of course Japanese entertainment agency who quickly came to Shut Up Flower Boy band’s filming set to visit Sung Joon.

What’s attracting them ?

They see high possibility to bring Sung Joon to Japan market. The reason : he is easy to be interviewed and he will make great relation with Japanese fans because he’s fluent in Japanese.

Another added value, Sung Joon has musical capability (he can play guitar, he can sing) and he has a unique style (just see how he dressed himself for the drama’s press conference ).

So, with this complete package he brings, will Sung Joon become the next Hallyu star just like  Korean media promoted ?
