Shin Hyun Joon : I watched R-rated movie with my father

44-year-old Shin Hyun Joon finds his fame again after starred as mentally retarded man in currently airing KBS2 drama Gaksital.
Since then he got several magazine photo shoots and TV interviews.
One of them was tvN’s talkshow ‘Baek Ji Yun’s People Inside’ which aired on June 25.

During the interview, Shin Hyun Joon made shocking revelation that because his parents were movie lovers, so he has been raised watching a lot of movie.
He said ,” I had watched R-rated movie when I was in elementary school”.

Then the MC asked him how could he -an elementary school boy- passed the checking in the cinemas’s gate to watch a R-rated movie.
Shin Hyun Joon answered ,” My father always said this to the gate guard: This boy is not Korean”. His answer made people in studio laughed. Because of his good-looking face, he was often doubted as Korean.

Shin Hyun Joon also shared his opinion about being an actor ,”Actor is judged by his acting. If an actor wants to be a real actor, he must be sincere, humble, tolerant, not-selfish and being strong against bad rumor and cruel comments”.

He then gave his advice for his juniors who want to be a celebrity rather than an actor ,” We must become an actor first. I think, if someone becomes an actor first, then people will loves him, and he eventually becomes a star. It’s not being a star first and actor second. For example, there’s a one junior whom I loved. After he got a lot of attention for a while in drama, he then just appeared in commercial afterwards”.

During the interview, MC Baek Ji Yoon revealed her story that actually she planned to invite Shin Hyun Joon to appear in her show since a long time, but it failed. Finally, social media helped her as she directly asked Shin Hyun Joon to appear via twitter. She got direct answer from him via twitter too who answered happily ,” I will meet you in your program”.
