We think Ryu Soo Young is just about a perfect choice for a role of a charismatic and handsome professor of  archeology and art history named Nam Jung Woo , a stone geek who had a secret crush to his student , ordinary but pretty girl Lee Seol (played by Kim Tae Hee).

For 31-year-old Ryu Soo Young, it’s a second male lead role in major drama which casts 2 major Korean stars Song Seung Heon and Kim Tae Hae and come from major dramamaker  director Kwon Seok Jang (Pasta, What’s Up Fox) and from major scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook who wrote memorable drama such as Lovers Trilogy, City Hall, On Air and currently airing hit drama Secret Garden.
Definitely means that audience expectations will be set ridiculously high and My Princess will get big attention, good for Ryu who just comeback again into the limelight.

This’s Ryu Soo Young  first drama after discharged last September  from his 2 years and 6 months military duty.
His last drama was 2008 The Lawyers of The Great Republic Korea.
He also played a university professor who had good genes and studied flowers  in 2007  Bad Couple.

My Princess basically didn’t offer something new in its story, a good looking and rich chaebol’s son Park Hae Young (played by Song Seung Heon) who also a Korean diplomat falls in love with an ordinary university student Lee Seol , who adopted by her parents from an orphanage.

As typical Korean drama, there’s Oh Yun Ju (played by Park Yee Jin) a museum curator but also an evil girl who sets her eyes on Park Hae Young and plots evil scenario to destroy her enemy, Lee Seol.
But Lee Seol’s secret admirer, the handsome professor Nam Jung Woo who likes to dig and studies stones, on a one fine day in the digging site finds the truth that Lee Seol is a princess and since then Lee Seol’s life turns overnight.

My Princess will replace Home Sweet Home in January 2011.
