There’s an interesting rating battle for this week Wednesday-Thursday drama slot.

Wednesday, MBC’s Playful Kiss run in its 9th episode  recorded a low 4%  rating (based on TNmS) , SBS’s My Girlfriend is Gumiho , in the eve of its finale,  15th episode,  reached 18.6% rating and KBS debutant Fugitive : Plan B was in solid 21.7% opening rating.

So, everyone want to watch the hyped Rain’s comeback drama after 5 years which helmet by the duo director/scriptwriter behind successful drama Chuno. And the number was  impressive , surpassed 20% mark for a debut drama and we realized how big is  the power of Rain.

But, there’s a twist for the Thursday rating result.
Playful Kiss doubled Wed rating, reached a whopping 8.2%. MGIG in its finale reached a 21.3% and Fugitive slowed a bit, got 17.3%.

The most reasonable theory is 20% of Fugitive’s audience switched for MGIG’s finale to see the fate of Seung Gi -Min Ah couple. That will explain why Fugitive lost its 20% Wednesday’s audience and MGIG up 20% from its Wednesday’s audience.
If this theory is right, we should find Fugitive bounces back in solid 20% rating next Wednesday.

And for Playful Kiss (PK), it must be a relieved for the production team, the drama reached its highest rating so far and suddenly got a double audience from the previous episode.
Too add the good news , MGIG ended and Playful Kiss can reach double digit rating next week, because  maybe some of MGIG’s audience will choose PK over new drama Daemul since MGIG and PK are in the quite similar genre.

As for next week,  Kwon Sang Woo & Ko Hyun Jung new drama, Daemul, finally arrives. This 2 big name will fight with star-studded Fugitive and struggled Playful Kiss.
We believe that Daemul can easily grabs double digit rating for the debut episode. But we’ll see !
