Micky Yoochun and Han Ji Min are the couple for ‘Rooftop Prince’

Rooftop Prince is upcoming SBS primetime drama which scheduled for Wednesday-Thursday slot replacing Please Take Care of Us, Captain next March 14.

As a fantasy saeguk, Rooftop Prince will start its story in the Joseon era when a crown prince was all heartbroken as his beloved princess died.

In such a fantasy, the prince alongside with his servants travel to the future, leap 300 years and arrive in the modern era of Seoul in search of the lost princess.

Micky Yoochun (Park Yoo Chun) of JYJ boyband has been locked the prince role couple weeks ago while the leading lady role has some rumored names before landed in Han Ji Min.

Previously Moon Chae Won who had 2 hit saeguk roles last year (drama The Princess’ Man and movie Arrow The Ultimate Weapon) got offer but she turned it down after found out in the script that there’s large portion of saeguk era in Rooftop Prince. She didn’t want three saeguk in a row , apparently.

There’s also Jung Yoo Mi’s name, who just got notice after her breakout performance in A Thousand Day’s Promise, which was also rumored got offer, but suddenly, today  ,production company announced that  29-year-old Han Ji Min secured the leading lady role.

Familiar with saeguk roles (Capital Scandal, Detective K, Yi San), Han Ji Min would be a perfect princess of Joseon but when it comes to modern era, we’re afraid that  Han Ji Min and 4 years younger Park Yoo Chun will produce an awkward chemistry.

So, it’s not our favorite and expected couple but if story is great , chemistry comes second.

Micky Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min were not my favorite couple.
Han Ji Min is too short for Yoo Cun, imo.
But maybe their drama will get good rating because Koreans love historical drama.
