This’s a major casting news and obviously a great news.
Lee Min Ho’s agency confirmed today, April 3, that he joins upcoming SBS historical drama Faith.
Lee Min Ho said that right after he read the script, he couldn’t stop until the sixth episode. Lee Min Ho admitted that he was looking for historical drama role for quite some time. Actually he likes historical drama and he wished for a long time to work with writer Song Ji Na and PD Kim Jong Hak , the team behind the successful Bae Yong Joon’s The Legends.
Faith was already in pre-production since 2010 but some obstacles made this drama stall and we’re suspicious there’s many problems inside the drama. So, it’s a bit of surprise that they offered Lee Min Ho the role and we’re more surprised that Lee Min Ho received it.
But just like Lee Min Ho said that he never did a historical drama before and looking for perfect role, so maybe that’s the biggest reason for him to join Faith.
Faith is a fusion historical drama that describes the process of making a king by swordsman in Goryeo dynasty and a modern female doctor.
Lee Min Ho plays 20-year-old Choi Yung, the leader of King’s bodyguard who later becomes general.
Other cast includes veteran actress Kim Hee Sun who confirmed to play leading lady for this drama years ago.
24 episodes of Faith will debut next August , replacing So Ji Sub’s Ghost.
