I Do , I Do seems to be the first major drama with unconventional theme this year, after tons of prince and king fall for humble ladies’ stories.
The leading lady, a woman in her 30s, gets pregnant as the result of a one night stand with her much younger colleagues in her office.
To make the story more interesting, the writer makes the leading characters as lopsided as possible. So, the leading lady, Hwang Ji An, -who gets pregnant- is a highly paid female executive, a top shoe designer, a type of boss which describes as the version of Meryl Streep’s The Devil Wears Prada.
So, the upper class lady is pregnant and the father of her child is the most uncharacteristic male she could imagine. He’s a rookie in her office and only has a high school diploma but manages to shows himself as a promising shoe designer although he’s also a bluff trouble maker with high-tone voice.
I Do, I Do will be a romantic comedy and and picks the perfect heroine, 36-year-old Kim Sun Ah , and young uprising 25-year-old Lee Jang Woo as the hero. So, Kim Sun Ah will switch from queen of tears in Scent of A Woman into her usual perfect role, comedy girl.
Lee Jang Woo played villain roles back to back (Man of Honor and Smile Dong Hae), so it’s interesting to see how he will act as the young and diligent employee who knocked up his boss.
This should be hilarious and trendy drama will be air end of May after The King 2hearts.
