Joo Won is golden boy ?
That’s what some media in Korea think about him and we’re quite agree with it.
24-year-old Joo Won came out of nowhere and stormed Korean showbiz with leading role in 2010 KBS2 sensational drama Baker King which became hit with 50% rating share.
He then continued his acting work with one of leading roles in the ensemble of weekend drama Ojakgyo Brothers which currently running in KBS2 with super rating, touched 34%, becomes the most watched drama for these last couple months.
What a lucky boy ! And now with Ojakgyo Brothers nears end, Joo Won already picked his next job, still for KBS2 station, a big budget drama series titled Doll Mask.
Based on cartoon work of Huh Youngman in 1974, Doll Mask centers its story back in 1930s, at the era of Japanese occupation in Korea when a man named Lee Kang To who is excellent at martial arts leads revolt against the Japanese.
Joo Won is projected to play that hero. That’s more serious role for Joo Won after his two previous dramas, moreover this time he leads the drama , this could be a burden for him but we think he’s more than ready for it. It’s interesting to see how this tall and cute actor will act as the rebel leader.
As for leading lady, Jung Yoo Mi who just appeared in A Thousand Days’ Promise as Kim Rae Won’s fiance is considered for heroine role.
Doll Mask is scheduled to air next May 2012, fills the Wednesday-Thursday slot, replacing upcoming drama The Equator Man which is the successor of Lee Dong Wook’s Wild Romance.
Directed by PD Yoon Sung Sik (The Slingshot) and story written by writer Yoo Hyun Mi (Green Rose, Home Sweet Home) , Doll Mask is projected to have its first script reading on January 13.
