Korean leading news outlet Newsen had an interview with Lee Won Geun after he finished filming and here is some of it.
His impression in the shooting set
Lee Won Geun : When I receive the contract, I’m happy but a little bit nervous because I heard that there’re some difficult person in the real shooting set. But turned out there’s only good people in The Moon That Embraces The Sun.
I had conversation with the director several times and he said that I’m a type of man who easily depressed in new situation, so he encouraged me a lot. I really appreciated him.
He continued : Inside the car returning to home after shooting, my heart a little bit complicated. After filming ended , the PD (director) gave me a bundle of flower and said ‘You did a good job. This role couldn’t be successful without you’.
I wonder whether I could find again these kind director, staffs and senior actors
(Wow, we adore PD Kim Do Hoon, on how he respects and supports this first timer actor)
On his character , Kim Jae Woon, the best swordsman, excellent in martial arts and cold quiet man
Lee Won Geun : I feel that the character is similar to real me, I’m calm and shy. When I meet new people, I would become the passive one.
But unlike Kim Jae Woon I’m not good at all in sports. I can not play football as good as in the drama and I gave the director a hard time during rehearsal for fighting scenes. Because the real me wouldn’t win against a kid.
I trained the fighting scene everyday and thank to the director for sticking on me although I’m poor at physical work.
On his co-stars
Lee Won Geun : I’m shy so it’s difficult for me to adapt, moreover although I’m older than my co-stars but I’m the newest actor there. But my co-stars were very kind.
Lee Min Ho teached me a lot, on how to set up a character, how much power I have to input for the drama.
Yeo Jin Goo’s still young but mature in acting and has many experiences. Resulting in excellent performance. He also has good manner for older people.
The tall 183 cm Lee Won Geun who started in showbiz after exchanged name-card with the director of his present management company, raised his passion of acting through watching stage performances. He’s so lucky that his debut drama was a hit and hope to meet fans again with more developed acting work.
