Jin Se Yun , the leading lady of Gaksital, described perfectly when she said that the actress in charge for fashion and sexiness in Gaksital was Han Chae Ah.
With the drama sets in 1930s, Han Chae Ah plays Korean woman who moved to Japan and trained into a perfect spy and assassin with appealing beauty.
The drama production did total preparation to portray Han Chae Ah’s character included prepared 6 sets of handmade Japanese traditional costume, kimono , complete with its accessories which worth more than $ 80,000 USD.
On her kimono costumes, Han Chae Ah said ,”I didn’t know that kimono was difficult to wear. The first time I received my kimono in the shooting set, I said to the crew that I will wear it by myself. I thought it’s just a simple cloth like our daily life clothing. But, actually, I needed 2 or 3 people to help me wearing it . The inner part also has order and must be put accordingly. At first, it was hard to wear but I like that experience because wearing kimono is unique.”
Reporter who interviewed Han Chae Ah guessed that it’s not easy for her to wear kimono in Gaksital because it’s not traditional Korean costume and also because the drama has anti-Japan atmosphere.
Han Chae Eh replied ,”Kimono is not Korean traditional cloth but I wear it with my utmost heart. It’s the same feeling when I feel angry if handbook is underestimated. I also want to respect other countries’ traditional clothes.”
