MBC’s weekend drama Dr. Jin invited media to visit their shooting set in Gyeonggido on July 5 for a press conference.
Several main cast such as Song Seung Heon, Park Min Young, Kim Jaejoong, Lee Bum Soo and Lee So Yeon met and talked with the press.
One of the most interesting interview was with Lee Bum Soo who spoke about Dr Jin‘s rating which -although it’s still a decent result but- was falling far behind its competitor Jang Dong Gun’s A Gentleman’s Dignity.
Lee Bum Soo said ,”The two dramas are completely different. I don’t have a chance to watch A Gentleman’s Dignity but I heard it’s a light romantic comedy. I thought it’s also a charming drama using clever conversation”.
He continued ,”Our drama (Dr. Jin) also has its own attractiveness. Based on Chosun history and time traveling which makes a modern doctor moves to the past, the drama combines history, medical art, and the sense of heavy or seriousness are Dr Jin’s main attractive points.”
He added ,” I thought the two dramas are different on that point. If we keep the tension, heavy and the power of historical drama, I think people will love our drama. Of course, if both dramas receive some love at the same time, it would be the best. Anyway, it’s our goal that Dr Jin‘s team continue to bring the best at the very end”.
Yes, mediocre rating doesn’t mean it’s a bad drama and we admire the tenacity of Dr Jin’s team to give its best to the end although it’s clear that they won’t win the rating race with A Gentleman’s Dignity.
