The ensemble of KBS drama Man of Honor gathered today at Seoul Imperial Palace Hotel, attending the drama’s press conference.
All the main cast were there, Chun Jung Myung, Park Min Young, Lee Jang Woo , Choi Myung Gil, Kim Sung Oh, Lee Jin and Kim Yun Joo.
As this drama came from the combo PD-writer of Baker King Kim Tak Goo (PD Lee Jung Sub and writer Kang Eun Kyung), so the question ahead of its debut next week is : will Man of Honor reach Baker King’s rating scale , which averaging at 38% and peaked at 50% .
To answer that, first we must take a look at the rivals.
For Wednesday prime time, MBC has Can’t Lose which its rating is struggling at around 6% to 7%. So we can ignore it.
Meanwhile SBS has a new drama which debut today, Deep Rooted Tree , starring Jang Hyuk, Han Suk Kyu and Shin Se Kyung.
This is a saeguk and Korean loves saeguk, so usually normal saeguk will get double digit rating, around 10% to 20%.
The heavyweight cast also added Deep Rooted Tree’s advantages. Jang Hyuk was very successful with his last saeguk , Chuno, which worked out critically (Jang Hyuk won awards for his role) and commercially (Chuno averaging in 32% rating).
So, based on that we predict that Deep Rooted Tree will be a serious competitor for Man of Honor.

Wow definitely a super good news.
We’re addicted to City Hunter and quite sad that it only 2 episodes left, so the news of Park MinYoung will appear again in new prime time drama in the next 2 months is a joy.
The drama titled The Glory of Jae In and debuts next October as KBS Wednesday-Thursday drama replacing Princess’ Man and the 25-year-old Park Min Young will play the drama title Jae In .
Lee Jong Hyuk takes a short work as the main cast of the newest KBS Drama Special titled Yeongdeok Women Wrestling Team after his latest less successful drama Crime Squad.
In Crime Squad, Jong Hyuk replaced Kim Seung Woo who withdrew in the last minute before drama’s first shooting.
It turned out to be not a good move for Lee Jong Hyuk as Crime Squad did poorly in rating achievement, never reached double digit rating during its airtime, with highest rating 8.7 and we agree with Korean viewers as we also quit Crime Squad after first episode.
From a charismatic police chief in Crime Squad , in this one episode KBS Special drama, Lee Jong Hyuk transforms into a funny and brilliant Park Joo Young, a once promising wrestling athlete but failed to manage his daily life. He later takes charge of a women wrestling team.
The leading lady is former teenage actress Lee Se Young, she plays Cha Bong Hee a bold high school girl who lives with her handicapped younger sister after their parents died. Park Jo Young accidentally finds Bong Hee’s talent in wrestling and starts to train her.
Such a cheerful and positive story, good choice for Lee Jong Hyuk after his action role in Crime Squad.
One episode Yeongdeok Women Wrestling Team is airing today.

Lee Da Hae confirmed her role as the heroine for upcoming MBC drama Goodbye Miss Ripley.
Goodbye Miss Ripley is inspired by a real national scandal in Korea just couple years ago, when an only high school graduate named Shin Jung Ah forged her academic credential (with help of her boyfriend) in order to be hired as assistant professor and art curator in Dongguk University, South Korea.
She claimed that she obtained BFA and MBA degree in University of Kansas and PhD from Yale University.
Later, she and her boyfriend served jail time for their action.
Previously people considered Shin Jung Ah’ life as a Cinderella’s story as she emerged from rags to good life. But as her fabrication act unveiled, her story became a scandal.
Lee Tae Gon, pictured above, will lead upcoming KBS1 period drama , titled King Gwanggaeto the Great.
He’ll play the King himself, using name Dam Guk which is the child name of the King.
King Gwanggaeto is considered as the greatest Korean historical heroes. King Gwanggaeto ruled Goguryeo and during his period, Goguryeo became the major power in East Asia.
This is the second period drama for 33-year-old Lee Tae Gon and his back to back leading role after romance drama Golden Fish.
He said that he honored to perform the greatest Korean king and now he’s working hard learning horse riding and martial art. He’s even asking some advice from senior actor Kim Jin Tae.
Kim Hyun Joong’s strong appeal -mostly for teenager- around the world attracted casual brand Hang Ten to use him as their model.
Good choice for Hang Ten.
Kim Hyun Joong is very popular in China, the world most populated country.
Based on China website – 123fans.cn- Hyun Joong topped the list of the most popular Korean and Japanese actors. Daebak !
