Marvel’s The Avengers collected 1 billion US dollars worldwide to date and still number one movie this weekend in US. But in South Korea, after won box office crown for 3 straight weekends, the superhero movie was unseated by a new romantic comedy movie Everything About My Wife.

Runway Cop : Kang Ji Hwan and belly

Runway Cop (previously titled Detective Cha) is the newest comedy movie from Kang Ji Hwan in which he meets again with his Hong Gil Dong‘s co-star Sung Yu Ri.

The handsome and sleek Kang Ji Hwan plays Detective Cha Chul Soo. His appearance is more like a beggar than a cop with all his smell and his belly fat. But, he’s a devoted cop.
And when he has to go undercover as a model walking in the runway to catch bad guy, he’s willing to shed 20 kgs of his weight only in 2 weeks.

Joo Ji Hoon’s ‘I am The King’ released stills

After finished serving army on November 2011,  Joo Ji Hoon gets busy filming a new movie titled I Am The King since early February 2012 and the movie finally has revealed several stills.

I Am The King will be a comical movie with 30-year-old Joo Ji Hoon plays a weak and coward crown prince who switched place with a servant.

Park Si Yeon plays sexy for her new movie ‘The Scent’

On March 20, upcoming thriller comedy movie The Scent released a new still teaser ahead for next month premiere.

The still showed Park Si Yeon, the leading lady in the movie, all sweated while working on her yoga and exercises. She looked fabulously sexy.

‘Gabi’ VIP premiere

Anyone who missed Kim So Yeon should be happy. The girl has a movie titled Gabi to widely premiere in next couple of days after yesterday evening, March 6,  held its VIP premiere.

Some stars attended the VIP premiere, included Jang Dong Gun, Park Si Yeon and funny man Gong Hyung Jin.

Earlier on that day, in the afternoon, Gabi also invited media for a media preview.

Also known as ‘Russian Coffee‘, Gabi centers on the Chosun era, when a woman barista (Kim So Yeon)  serves Emperor Gojong who enjoyed drinking coffee. As mystery thriller, there’s Russian spy (Joo Jin Mo) who deals with Emperor Gojong’s assassination.

For this movie, Kim So Yeon said that she learnt Japanese and Russian as many dialogue was in those languages.

First pictures of Lee Byung Hun as ‘King of Joseon’

We’re showered with several types of Joseon’s Kings lately, from Han Suk Kyu’s charismatic and lovable King Sejong in Deep Rooted Tree, into the  cute but sometimes awkward King Lee Hwon in currently airing hit drama The Moon That Embraces The Sun.

And we still have another kings to come,  Choi Soo Jung plays  King Taejong Muyeol in upcoming KBS drama  and Korean megastar Lee Byung Hun plays King Kwang Hae in upcoming movie titled King of Joseon (or I am King of Joseon).

‘Love Fiction’ VIP premiere

Romance movie Love Fiction held its VIP premiere yesterday night, February 20.
Gong Hyo Jin and Ha Jung Woo play a couple  in Love Fiction, tells a relationship of that couple  , from the first time they met until its ends only from Ha Jung Woo’s perspective.

The VIP premiere attended by some A lister, such as Yoon Eun Hye, Shin Min Ah, Jang Hyuk, Son ye Jin and many more.

Love Fiction premieres in wide release February 29.

Lee Na Young’s movie ‘Howling’ is number 1 in box-office

Action movie Howling opened nationwide on February 16 and by the end of the weekend on February 19 was the number 1 movie , brought total of more than 600,000 admissions.
Meanwhile previous number 1 movies Nameless Gangster and Dancing Queen followed at number 2 and 3 and both movies already brought around  3,5 millions admissions to date.

Song Kang Ho and Lee Na Young were the leading casts for Howling, play detectives who investigate  serial murders.
The VIP premiere for Howling was held on February 13 and attended by fellow actors such as Eugene, rising star Yeo Jin Goo, Song Ji Hyo and many more.

‘Nameless Gangster’ is number 1 movie this weekend

2012 seems to be a promising year for Korean movies. Early this year, some movies already recorded a great box office result.

Korean box office statistic (KOFIC) yesterday, February 5, released the pleasant numbers from last weekend.

Dancing Queen, starred by Hwang Jung Min and Uhm Jung Hwa, was the most watched movie so far this year, hailed 2,73 million viewers. Followed by Broken Arrow closer with 2.64 million viewers since both movies debut January 18.

Meanwhile the newest hit was Nameless Gangster which debut February 2 , surprisingly has more than 1 million viewers in 4 days. Amazing numbers !

‘Papa’ VIP premiere

New movie Papa, starred by  Park Yong Woo and Go Ara finally made its VIP premiere night yesterday, January 17, at Lotte Cinema Seoul.
It’s a glorious night with several A-list names came and supported the  premiere event such as Han Chae Young, Lee Da Hae, Lee Min Jung, Lee Min Ki and many more.

Papa tells story of a talent manager named Choon Sub who went to USA in search for his artist who run away with another manager. When in USA, Choon Sub did a marriage contract in order for him to stay in USA legally. The staged marriage resulted in 6 children , though.
When Choon Sub realized that the eldest daughter has a huge talent in singing, he encouraged her to be a singer and molds her into a star.

Filmed almost 90% of the movie in US, Papa will be in wide release on February 2.
