Korean Peninsula canceled from 24 episodes into 18

Mar 20, 2012 Author: daiko | Filed under: korean drama

Korean Peninsula, the supposed to be blockbuster drama from new cable channel TV Chosun, was shortened into 18 episodes from previous scheduled 24 episodes after failing to lure large number of audience in 1 and a half  months after its debut.

That means Korean Peninsula will end on April 3rd.

TV Chosun’s person said that the rating was so low and they experienced problem with sponsor too.

With a whopping 10 billion Won production cost,  Korean Peninsula debuted February 6 with solid rating 1.649% but failed to maintain its viewers after that and lately was beaten by competitor medical drama Syndrome from cable channel jTBC.

Actually, Korean Peninsula’s rating is still decent for a cable channel drama but the producer expected more result with its huge production cost.

So, what went wrong with Korean Peninsula ?

We think this drama’s trying too hard to impress with its foreign and offshore filming which definitely cost a lot of money. And the lack of chemistry between the leading stars (Kim Jung Eun and Hwang Jung Min) added the drama’s downfall.

According to AGB Nielsen, Hero’s first episode, titled Birth of Hero, averaged at 1.9% and reached highest rating at 2.4%.

Definitely amazing rating for a pilot episode of a cable channel !

Of course they’re not literally melted the snow. They melted the people’s hearts in Hokkaido as they went crazy of seeing Jang Geun Suk and Yoona filming several scenes of Love Rain there.

The shooting set always crowded with fans and leading Japanese media such as Nikkan Sports and Sankei Sports which reported the shooting session for Japanese people.

In return, Jang Gun Suk said that although it’s bitter cold in Hokkaido but he enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the warm heart of people of  Hokkaido.

Perfect then.

During MBC’s entertainment news ‘Section TV’ on March 11, the show brought audience to the shooting set of The King 2hearts and  unveiled a funny moment.

The leading man , Lee Seung Gi misinterpreted a scene, he read the script :’ lie down behind Hang Ah‘, actually the script said ‘sit behind Hang Ah who lied down‘.

So, Lee Seung Gi tried to lie down behind Hang Ah and thinking ‘this’s a bed scene‘.

Fortunately the PD quickly gave Lee Seung Gi explanation and Lee Seung Gi was embarassed. He soon apologized to Ha Ji Won by saying ‘I’m sorry‘ and all the people there laughed.

LOLs.

Do you watch the long awaited kissing scene between Lee Hwon and Wol in hit drama The Moon That Embraces The Sun?

Do you satisfied with it ? If yes , then the hard work of Kim Soo Hyun and Han Ga In are paid off.

Because, according to Kim Soo Hyun, that kissing scene wasn’t an easy job.

It’s not because it’s the first time he did it but it was the longest one.

During MBC’s Section TV Entertainment program, Kim Soo Hyun said with shyness ‘ It was my first time for a such long kiss. To make that scene we used rail and we had to turn around that rail five times. It was a really long time.’

Then he made people laughed as he said ‘When finally the PD said ‘cut’, we breathed heavily with a breath-sound such as hak..hak..’

LOLs !
