Yesterday, the finale of KBS hit drama Baker King Kim Tak Goo sets a record rating, breaks the 50% rating mark.

According to TNmS  (TV Audience Research company), Baker King reached 50.8%, but according to AGB Nielsen Media Research, Baker King reached 49.3%.

There was a slightly different result,  but both measurement showed that Baker King reached  highest rating on it’s finale. Seemed that everybody didn’t want to miss the final fate of Tak Goo, Ma Jun, Yu Kyung and Mi Sun.

With Baker King pulled TV audience in Korea yesterday, it caused rating problem for the competitor in the same time slot.

MBC drama Playful Kiss (PK) and SBS drama My Girlfriend is Gumiho (MGIG) painfully experienced their lowest rating to date.

According to TNms, yesterday PK got 2.8 % (debut with 3.5%, highest reached 3.6%). Meanwhile yesterday MGIG got 10.7% (debut  with 12.7%, highest reached 14.6%).

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, yesterday PK got 2.8%, and MGIG got 8.7%.

Both drama lose around 20% of it’s audience yesterday.

As we believe that MGIG will bounce back to it’s normal rating next week, Playful Kiss really in hard time, 2.8% is a very very low rating, but hopefully they will get additional audience next week, when Baker King’s fans have to choose between Playful Kiss or MGIG.
Next Wednesday KBS will not air a new drama to celebrate  Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving day).

But, if PK fail to attract new audience, PK will be in big trouble, since at September 29, KBS will air the debut of Baker King successor, highly anticipated Rain’s Fugitive : Plan B.

Wish PK all the best !
